The 2025 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) held in Beijing from Sept 10 to 14 was a spectacle for global service trade with a record-setting turnout of nearly 2,000 enterprises, including 65 from Shandong province.
This year's CIFTIS showcased various cutting-edge service trade achievements ranging from smart manufacturing, creative cultural products, digital trade and traditional Chinese medicine, making the event an "observation window" in service trade industry.

During the event, Shandong firms achieved a prospective transaction value of more than $10 million, showcasing to the world the province's innovation and strong potential in the industry.
Shandong, known for its robust manufacturing, is now leveraging digital technology to transform into a service-oriented economy. At the recent service trade fair, enterprises like DiShang Group showcased digital innovations such as smart body scanners and virtual fitting systems, optimizing fashion design and production.
The province's import and export service trade is growing rapidly, with a 2024 turnover of 367.7 billion yuan ($51.61 billion). In the first half of this year, the amount was 16.11 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.1 percent.
Learning from successful cultural export cases like Yuewen Group and Hoyoverse, Shandong is focusing on emerging areas like cultural trade, leveraging its rich cultural heritage, such as Confucian culture, Taishan culture, red culture, ocean culture, national intangible cultural heritage projects, and museums, in recent years to diversify its service trade development.
Companies like Beetle Studio, an animation enterprise, are exporting culturally rich content, achieving significant overseas success. "Our game 'Liar's Bar' currently has over 1 million daily active users in Indonesia and Malaysia," said a manager of Beetle Studio.
